Hayley Watson is an experienced feature writer, editor and social media manager based in Toronto.

She launched the Indie Publisher newsletter for Indiegraf in 2020 and coordinated social media for National Observer during the 2019 Canadian federal election. Hayley was the managing editor of J-Source for three years and is currently the new platforms editor at Maclean’s, where she oversees TikTok content.

Her work has appeared in The Guardian, Vice, Toronto Life, Toronto Star, Canadian Business, Chatelaine, The Narwhal, Maisonneuve, TVO, Nieman Lab, Editor & Publisher, Canadian Lawyer and many more.

Hayley is currently working on her masters in fine arts in creative writing in the Stonecoast MFA program at the University of Southern Maine.
