Erin Spahr is a licensed therapist, writer, feminist, and maternal mental health advocate based in Raleigh, North Carolina. With over a decade of experience working with individuals and couples, Erin weaves professional expertise with a deeply personal understanding of the joys and struggles modern families face. Her work is grounded in a feminist lens, empowering her clients to shed societal expectations and build lives and relationships rooted in self-confidence, self-compassion, and equity.

Erin hosts The Feminist Mom Podcast, where she explores the intersection of feminism and motherhood through candid, relatable conversations with inspiring guests, including Eve Rodsky, author of Fair Play, and Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, as well as other inspiring writers and activists. She has been featured on numerous podcasts, including Happy as a Mother, No One Told Us, and Therapy Chat, where she shares insights on emotional labor, maternal burnout, and feminist parenting. Erin’s expertise has also appeared in media outlets such as HuffPost, Newsweek, O, The Oprah Magazine, The Bump, Yahoo! Life, and the Irish Independent.

As the creator of the Inclusive Provider Directory, Erin has made strides in connecting mothers, birthing individuals, and families with perinatal providers who value inclusivity and identity-affirming care. Earlier in her career, she founded the Perinatal Mood Disorders Clinic at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where she worked as a therapist and clinical supervisor before moving with her family to Raleigh and launching her private practice during the pandemic. While her initiatives reflect her dedication to supporting marginalized communities, Erin’s true passion lies in helping individuals and couples create emotionally equitable and fulfilling relationships.
